NOVEMBER 2010 CATEGORIES
CRANBERRY SWEETS Send us a recipe that transforms tart cranberries into luscious
sweets. Perhaps you add a ruby red cranberry layer to a cheesecake or spread one between
layers of cake. Other ideas include bar cookies with a cranberry filling or drop cookies loaded
with berries. A cranberry pie or a cranberry pudding (chilled or warm) can be a festive holiday
dessert. Start with fresh or frozen cranberries, or incorporate sweetened cranberries into your
original recipe.
SLOW-COOKER SOUPS What’s better on a chilly night than a steaming bowl of soup? This
convenient appliance lets you come home to a meal that’s ready and waiting to be served. Make
it with meat or meatless, creamy or broth-based. Remember to add plenty of seasonings. Need
some ideas? How about a bean or pea soup, a soup with sausage or ground meat, or a hearty
vegetable soup with pasta or rice.
